Our Kauai Trip this year!

Here’s a deal for cheap airfare to Hawaii from California this December.  Not sure how long this deal will last, but flights to Hawaii are usually $500-600 from the west coast.  Google released a new tool a while back that I think is an excellent tool to search for cheap airfare.  Click here to access google flights.

1. Enter cities first, i.e. LAX to HNL. Select dates. Click the graph button to see which dates result in the lowest cost.

Select # of Passengers and hit Book Now

You will be directed to the booking site. Purchase.

OAK-HNL $296 including taxes!

SFO-HNL $302 w/ taxes!

As an added bonus, if you have a Chase Freedom card, you can get an additional 5% cashback or ultimate rewards points on airfare this quarter!  Go here to activate your bonus if you haven’t.  I will post some more tips and tricks on credit cards coming up.  I traveled to Hawaii and Europe this year mostly for free on points and miles this year.

You can play around with the dates on Google Flights to see what else you can come up with.  Unfortunately I can’t go during this time, maybe some of you can.  I usually use points and miles to fly to Hawaii, but it is a bit complex to explain how that works. Milevalue.com has some explanation and introduction to points and miles, visit his site.  http://milevalue.com/the-cheapest-ways-to-get-to-hawaii/.

So, anything that is offered for free is a breath of fresh air, specially free things
such as $1000 or so gift cards to major stores. In the
UK, Woodland Trust runs the Christmas Card Recycling Scheme.
These are under $10 (2% goes to charity) and if you have a lot of girlfriends you can buy
4 bears and get the 5th one free.
