How to Apply for Multiple Credit Cards at the Same Time – Multiple Browser Method

The multiple browser method is a useful method to be instantly approved for multiple credit card applications at one time.   The reason is because when you apply for multiple credit cards at the same time, the other bank or credit bureau might only see you are applying for just one credit card.  Applying for three cards on three different days could impact your score 6-9 points, while applying on one day could only be a 2-3 hit.  How do you apply for multiple credit cards on one day?

Use multiple browsers, one for each credit card application.  Only apply for 1 credit card from each provider(Chase, AMEX, Barclays) at a time unless it is Citi.  Citi lets you apply for 2 citi cards at one time, see my experience below.  Citi does not allow you to apply for 2 cards at the same time anymore. You can also apply for one Chase personal and one Chase business card.  Other than Chase, I don’t recommend apply for business and personal credit cards at the same time.  It is also best to sign up on Monday-Thursday because the reconsideration line is only open Monday through Friday.  I usually call the reconsideration line right away if I don’t get instant approval.  Here is my method:

1. Open up Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome all in private mode.  I use private mode and different browsers to ensure the credit bureaus don’t see my other inquiries.  This heightens the chance of being automatically approved for multiple cards because it looks like you are applying for just one card.

Multiple browser method. 3 Credit Card applications.

2. Fill out each application simultaneously and try to submit all of them at the same time.

3. If you don’t get instant approval, call the reconsideration line right away.  Tell them you really want the card and mention the perks you are interested in.  Also be proactive and let them know if you can move credit from another card to open the new one.  A list of phone numbers can be found here.

My experience doing the multiple browser method to apply for multiple credit cards at the same time:

  • I applied for four cards at one time.  Chase United Explorer, Chase Ink Plus, and 2 Hilton Citi credit cards.
  • Since I already had many credit cards, I did not get instant approvals on any card.  Your experience may vary.
  • I called the reconsideration lines for all four cards.  You can see my Chase experience here.
  • Both my Chase cards were approved right away.  I had to verify my address for the Citi Hilton cards.  I explained I needed to separate business expenses and personal expenses for the 2 Hilton cards.  I actually had to wait about 2 days because I just moved and had to verify my address.
  • My credit score dropped 2 points at the time.  See the history of my score here.

Hi Rom – Found your website thru million miles secrets and have been very impressed! Lots of great information!

My question for you is, I’ve got 5 current cards – discover, BOA world points amex, citi divedens, citi thank you points, and chase saphire preferred. I applied for 3 chase cards back in Feb (United, Saphire Preferred, and continental) and was denied on 2 but aproved on the saphire. When I called the reconsideration line they said they needed a payment history before approving more than one. Fast forward to to today and I would like to reapply for more cards. To do another 3 browser app, do they all need to be for the same bank? I want to reapply for the chase untied but also want the American Express SPG card. Can I do both in the same day? Is there another card you would recomend? I’m looking to build points for a trip for my family to the mid-east this summer.

AB, you should apply for 3 different banks. AMEX SPG, Chase United, and maybe US Air (is a safe choice) or Hawaiian, or a Chase Ink Plus or Ink Bold, or 2X AA card would work. I’m not sure what airline you are trying to fly, but I would go with Chase points or AA.

Thanks for your response. If I apply for 3 different banks is that still considered the 3 browser meathod? Will it only be 1 pull on my credit report?

        • December 13, 2012 at 8:38 pm

Which 3 cards do you plan to apply for? I’ve always had just one credit pull applying for multiple cards a day. I would recommend doing some research to make an informed decision.

Thanks Rom. I applied for AMEX SPG, Chase United, and Chase Ink Bold. Was immediatly approved for the AMEX but not for the 2 chase cards. Called the reconsideration line and got both approved! They said the initial consideration was due to more than one application at a time. Hopefully this still only leads to one credit report pull. Thanks again!

          • December 14, 2012 at 6:41 am

Awesome! No problem. It should lead to just one credit pull. All 3 of those cards are great, I have them all. Chase Ink Bold is my favorite.

I went online and search for how to take off eviction from my public records and most people on different forums kept talking about a professional hacker and how fast, affordable and reliable he is…I then went ahead, and told him my issues with my records. His responds to my mails made me calm and optimistic about the whole thing. I made a down payment for the job and he cleaned my public records in 3 days. What a relief!…Now i don’t have to worry anymore and its so amazing. Fix your credit report by contacting spystealth ‘dot’ org ‘at’ gmail ‘dot’ com and by the time he’s done with your job, do not hesitate to spread words about his services to people in need of a professional hacker because i’m very sure you’d be glad you hired him for the job.

Hi Rom, this is the 3rd time I read this post, great info. My next apporama is approaching, I’m gonna use your multi-browser method. Would you mind clarifying: once all application are filled out, do you wait for one submission results before hitting the submit key on the next browser? or simply click submit then switch browser click the next submit without waiting for the result of the first browser? Thanks! Jen

    • January 4, 2013 at 9:03 am

I wait for the result first. You don’t have to submit them all at the same time exactly. A couple seconds or minutes apart is fine. I just do them as close as possible and it works for me! Not exactly sure about the technicalities behind it, but I know your hard inquiries will consolidate. I can only state that it works for me and it should work for you, but no 100% guarantees.

*HEADDESK* No. Just… NO! That is NOT how private browsing works! AT ALL!!!

    • February 1, 2013 at 8:54 pm

Might not be how it works but it works for me so ill do it that way.

    • William
      June 1, 2013 at 2:02 am

Opening them all in private mode works because it doesnt show the cookies for each Credit Card site you are applying to. So it looks as if you went directly to that website, and not that you went to it because of possibly being declined from all these other sites.

      • June 1, 2013 at 8:57 am

Good tip, private mode is safer!

I was able to get an AMEX PRG and SPG in one day followed by the corporate card a week later. If I had known I’d need the corporate card, I would have tried all 3 on one day.

    • April 2, 2013 at 7:54 pm

Try to call right away and try to get approved. Do you have a decent credit score?

    Hi Rom,

You seem to be very clever and therefore have a question for you 🙂

If I apply at different banks (for example chase and Amex) using the multiple browser method, how is it possible that it won’t show up as 2 inquiries on my report. I would understand if I apply for 2 chase cards or 2 citi cards but otherwise why would it consolidate?

    • May 6, 2013 at 4:12 pm

Chase and Amex could both pull from Experian and might combine. If they don’t then it is still safer applying for both at the same time because it looks like you are applying for one credit card. Check the credit card database pull. Google it up.

    Hi Rom,

I used the multi browser trick today to apply for the Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase United MileagePlus Explorer Card. I was approved for both instantly. I also want to apply for two of the Citi AAdvantage cards. If I apply for the Citi cards today, do you think it will count as one hard pull (Chase and Citi both use Experian)? Thanks.

    • May 16, 2013 at 3:39 pm

It’ll combine but you can only apply for one citi aa

Just wanted to say thanks for your advice! Today I successfully applied for the British Airways Chase Card with a 50,000 avios bonus, the Barclay’s Arrival World MC with 40,000 pt bonus, and Barclay’s US Airways card with the annual fee waived the first year and 35,000 bonus miles.
I was immediately approved for the Barclays World Arrival card, but had to call and ask them to split my line of credit to get the US Airways card opened.
For the Chase card I just had to call the consideration line and okay them transferring some credit from an open Chase card I don’t use often.
I believe my score will only go down 2-3 points but haven’t confirmed yet. Thanks for the advice!

    • June 12, 2013 at 10:54 am

Congrats! If you need advice on how to meet those spends let me know too!

    Hi, Rom
I wanted to know that if I apply multiple cards at the same time that they will only pull my credit reports once. What if I apply for multiple cards at the same time and request the credit limit on several of my cards in the same day, will it still be one hard pull for me?

    • June 13, 2013 at 7:54 am

It can be quite confusing. Applying for multiple cards at the same time may result in them “pulling” your credit report once as in they all look at the same credit report, but it will still result in multiple hard inquiries from different banks. The advantage of applying for multiple cards at the same time is that it makes it seem like you are applying for one credit card that day so they may not consider your other applications. However, if you look at your report a few days later, you can see all the inquiries on your report. Hope this helps!

What do you think the minimum credit score that is needed to apply for multiple credit cards, Im at 680?

    • August 8, 2013 at 8:49 pm

I’d say at least 700. I would get a no fee card like chase freedom to improve your score.

My husband and I are planning to do an apporama for the first time, after having applied for a few cards individually over the last few years. We actually just applied for 3 cards in August (my husband got a Citi AA card and a grocery store card, and I got a Citi AA Business card). Would it be too soon for us to apply to 3-5 cards each (Citi, Chase, Amex, Barclays, BoA, etc.)? I know ideally we would wait 3 months. Are there some banks that would definitely decline us because of having recent inquiries? We each have credit scores over 800 and always pay on time, etc.

Also, do you plan to keep this page up to date as policies change? It seems like a great resource and I see you have updated it with recent changes to Citi’s rules.

    • September 6, 2013 at 9:10 am

I need to update this page. The 3 month rule is not a set rule. If you are relatively new to churning cards you should get approved. I like to do 3 at a time. My friend got approved for both the chase ink bold and sapphire at the same time last week. He had to call in. AMEX offers are just okay now.. Not sure if you want to wait on spg or not. You have the best citi aa card.. Maybe try for barclaycard arrival? $440 of free travel cash is hard to pass up. After churning this round, I would def wait 3 months. Hope this helps..

    Thanks Rom!
My husband and I actually goofed and got the smaller rewards on our Citi cards (25k and 30k). We were scared about making the spend on two cards at once. Not surprisingly, we completed the spends in under a month and realized we should have gone for the bigger rewards! But if I understand correctly, we can still apply for the bigger spend Citi cards (him the business and me the personal, opposite of what we did last time).

We’ve had three miles cards before… all Chase British Airways. My husband got it twice, and I got it once. One of my husband’s is still open. I’m hoping we can both get the Chase Airtran cards. because they have direct flights from Atlanta to Cancun and Aruba, both of which we’d love to see. Do you think Chase would be very particular about us having had recent Citi applications?

We were also thinking about US Airways Barclays 35k (because of no spend and anticipated merger), Club Carlson US Bank 85k (up to 18 nights!), and Delta Amex (30k, $500 spend). Do you think any of these would be likely to reject us due to recent applications? I think my husband probably couldn’t try for the Club Carlson because the Kroger card he got was also US Bank.

    • September 9, 2013 at 10:25 am

I don’t know your situation exactly, but seems like you will be approved. Chase is not too particular about recent Citi applications. I have 6 personal and 2 business Chase credit cards. All the cards you named are decent choices if it fits your plans, but the Chase Airtran wouldn’t be my first choice. You can get Chase Sapphire Preferred or Chase Ink cards because 19,200 Chase points when transferred to Southwest covert to 16 Airtran credits. Delta is not my favorite frequent flyer program, so only get it if you have a good idea how you will spend it.

I am new to signing up for cards to get the best bonus and a have few questions. I have excellent credit/history and signed up for the chase hyatt and marriott cards along with the barclay premier (I think that is what it is called) last week. I got approved for all instantly. Now I really want to get 2 of the southwest cards to try use the miles to get a companion pass. What do you think my chances are of getting these so close to last week. I don’t mind waiting, but it appears the 50,000 bonus southwest offer ends on October 30. Any input would be great.

    • October 22, 2013 at 8:30 am

I would apply on the last day. I’ve applied for some cards within a month of the previous and was approved. Since you are new, the chances are good. Call the reconsideration line within a day and try to transfer credit. Good luck!

nice report here I would like to find out regarding the minimum income is there any preference to get approved fast enough??? with a good score like 750

You don’t really need minimum income. You should be approved right away but might have a smaller credit line.

    Hey –

    Thanks for the report.

Last night I applied for an Amex Gold Premier. Got approved instantly.

Then was deciding between the Chase Sapphire Preferred and the Barclaycard Arrival 2X on all purchases. Couldn’t decided last night. Then ultimately decided on the Barclay Arrival today. I applied and got denied. What would you suggest? Chase or Barclay? Should I call for a recon?

This is/was my first time applying for credit cards. CS: 748. Almost 21. Moving out of house of 18 years on Thurs.

    • December 17, 2013 at 8:50 pm

I wouldn’t do too much as a first timer and with not much credit history. Yes, always call the reconsideration line. I would wait a bit before you apply for any more cards. You want to show that you are responsible with your credit by paying in full and on time. I had an AMEX Costco and Discovercard for a good 3-4 years before entering the points and miles game. Of course you don’t have to wait THAT long, but maybe a good 4-6 months. Good luck!

        December 17, 2013 at 9:40 pm

I have had a basic Wells Fargo Credit Card for about 2-3 years. Does that change anything? Also, Barclays Arrival or Chase SP??

        • December 18, 2013 at 1:02 pm

That’s not bad, it should show you have decent history. Hence your score of 750ish.

Hi Rom. Thanks for all the great info. My fiancé and I are about to use your methods to get a few cards. However I’m trying to figure out if it would be better for us to apply for the same 3 cards twice, or 6 different cards. Any thoughts on that?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    • January 23, 2014 at 8:47 am

I would do same 3 cards twice but depends on your goals. Email me.

    • January 23, 2014 at 12:40 pm

Chase Ink Bold/Chase Sapphire/AMEX SPG is a good combo. You could replace one of the cards with Citicard AA 50K as well.

        Hey Rom,

Thanks for your help. We did her first round last night. Sapphire Preferred – Instant approval for 14k, Citi AA – Instant approval for $8500, AMEX SPG – Instant approval for 2k. We also threw in Club Carlson – Instant approval for 14k.

With ths being our first attempt at churn, we were very pleased! I’ve been following your site/blog (as well as others) every day for 2 months preparing for this. Thanks so very much for all the valuable information!

Tried your technique for Chase Sapphire, Amex and Discover… All indicate I would be contacted in 5-7 business days. Is this common?

Hello Rom, I got approved by Discover however I was denied by Amex, I called and they told me I was denied due to my a account being closed by them which occurred over 10 yrs ago, I have dice worked hard to re-establish my credit; I contacted United Chase recon line and was simply told by rep she could not approve my application. Any suggestions at this point, should try again in 3 months, did I do something wrong while using the 3 browser technique? How can I improve my chances? Also, credit report reflects some hard inquiries…your advice is valued.

    Thanks GM

i just got approved for chase sapphire preferred last week… had I known this a week earlier…

hi, just a little back story, lol: my husband is active duty so our accounts are all through Navy Federal Credit Union. He has a credit card though them, but I am not on that account, just his checking and savings accounts. Its the same the other way too, I previously had checking and savings accounts with Chase and transfered everything to his when we got married. However, I still have a chase freedom credit card that is just mine. I would now like to apply for a card that we share. we don’t need lots of cards, so I’m deciding between one with NavyFed and the chase sapphire.
so this may be a silly question, can I apply for the sapphire and apply (using my husbands info) for the Navy Fed? if we’re approved for both does that mean we get both or we can turn one down? obviously i’m very inexperienced with this.

i am a stay at home mom by the way, if that makes a difference 🙂

    • May 8, 2014 at 3:37 pm

You can apply for the sapphire and navy fed. I’m not sure why you would turn it down if you apply for it. If you are married, you can use his income to apply for yourself.

Hi guys! I just wanna share my recent experience that before i saw this post i was already approved of 2 cards same day with seconds a part recently but in different method. I was receiving this mail offers from capitolone and citi. I like them both especially the capitolone because of same cash limit of your credit limit. My mom has this so i like it. What i like in citi after surfing is that citi is easy to increase your line once you’ve proved your worthy to them plus it’s the lowest apr card available. The cards i accepted mail offer are citi preferred diamond and capitol one platinum. Back to what i’ve said earlier about my experimentation as well as my experience was that if its possible to get approved of two cards in same day. It didn’t came in my mind about the idea what Roms’ shared but since i have two netbooks so i used them both. I used incognito mode in my moms netbook in accepting the mail offer of citi preferred diamond and non-incognito mode on my personal netbook for accepting the mail offer of capitlone platinum. I was quite reluctant because of my score. My score was EQ726 and TU712, didnt checked my EX. I was hasty in filling up the forms on both netbooks because the longer you stay it might expire the page so i do it as quicky as possible and done it. I first pressed the submit on citi then like 5 secs after i pressed the submit on my other netbook for captolone. I was so nervous that time because both of them took almost a minute to show up the results , and i think 10 secs apart from citi’s result before capitolone shows the result. Both of them got approved with citi 3,200 highest credit card limit ever since i opened my apple barclay with 1,200 limit last dec 2013, next my capitolone was approved also for 1k but good its better than decline right? plus it will increase soon as i built my history. I never expect citi would grant me that high since i was just new in credit cards as an individual user, i was 14 years AU from my moms capitolone so its quite good that my history has built so far but after started up my first credit card barclay last dec 2013 followed the 2 store cards same month and year the amazon 600 and bestbuy 2k and recently with no inquiry on 3 bureaus got approved by paypal smartconnect 500 limit last march 2014(im not sure if its a store card of credit card but the reports on my bureaus said its a credit card though), my score has suffered from 750 down to 606 of creditkarma by TU and 633 quizzle by EQ. take note that the scores presented in those free sites are not real fico score because when i checked my fico score lately prior accepting the mail offer my points was more than 100 points difference. creditkarma shows 606 by TU then i checked my FICO at by TU and the score was 712. My free barclay fico score shows me 699. so just a tip i guessed when checking your fico score checked it with as it was really reliable and accurate i think. As i was saying about after my score has suffered. it boosts for 5 months after last dec. EQ726 & TU712. I was confident that citi would grant me this time cause they’ve rejected me last dec and now offered shows on my mail every two weeks.. Now when it comes to credit score im not sure if it wil suffer because i dont know if which bureau are they reporting. Yet i was lucky that I got approved though. im looking forward to build my history with capitolone as they offered to increase my limit after 5months paying w/o delay. for now il be waiting like 6 months, a year or until my score hits up to 800 if possible before applying for a new card again. i was dreaming to have the amex blue or its latest one the one that has no fee for as many AU you want and the barclay ring for 8%apr. hope so i get them soon and will be trying this browser technique of roms. Hi; I applied to chase sapphire preferred and Barclaycard arrival elite at the same time. The chase sapphire preferred was instant with a credit line of 26k. Barclay came back with being reviewed. I called in about 2 hours later to the credit analyst line. They said we see you applied for a discover it and Chase Marriott in April. I explain the discover was for my wife since she does not work. They said ok. The Chase Marriott was for hotels domestic and international. They ok great. They gave me a 15k credit line. I use internet explorer (private) and incognito Google chrome. I applied with 2 seconds apart. It work Barclay pulled Transunion and Chase pulled Equifax. I also have Chase Ink Bold and Plus on the business side which applied in May 2014. The new cards are Discover 12k, Chase Marriott 15k, Chase Ink Bold 15k, Chase Ink Plus 15k, Chase sapphire preferred 26k, and Barclaycard Arrival Elite 15k. All done less in two months. I really wanted the Chase Sapphire preferred and Barclaycard Arrival Elite for travel. THX for the info.

Hi ; I also have Capitalone Quicksilver and Spark Business 15k and 5k. My plan is keep the average availability above 15k. It looks like department store credit cards give a lower limit. So I am reluctant to apply. My plan is to only apply for two credit cards that I have a need for with the bonus points. Will apply every six months to a year. I have 7 credit cards , 1 charge card and 1 HP Computer credit account that does not report to the credit bureau. My plan is to apply when there is a need or to have a larger credit availability. I am looking at BOA, Southwest, Hyatt, Lord and Taylor Department store credit card for my wife they pull from Experian. I also look at Home Depot and Lowes(Real Estate Projects up to 120k. Selling properties 1 house and 1 duplex in North Carolina and one Brownstone in New York City. There are no mortgages on properties. . Will apply for two credit cards in September 2014. My credit availability is 123k will stop at about 150k to 200k. The available credit will be used on various projects then paid off in 30 to 60 days or less. I currently have the following credit cards Quicksilver 15k, Spark Business 5k, Discover 12k, Barclaycard elite 15k, Chase Marriott 15k, Chase Sapphire Preferred 26k, HP Computer Credit 5k, Chase Ink Bold 15k, and Chase Ink Plus 15k. Any thoughts on my current plan with credit card usage. THX

Hello there! Quick question that’s totally off
topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly?
My site looks weird when browsing from my iphone.
I’m trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to fix this issue.

If you have any suggestions, please share. With thanks!

So, people love to receive home decor items as
gifts on Diwali. Make sure you keep informed about any and every product you
buy for the baby because of the fact that you may have looked publications and pamphlets
that there are always reminders of unsafe product being advertised because a paper is
confirmed unsafe for children and infants with what
probably can be transformed into an article
risky for them to manipulate or play, and watch
for the new as it is made available and ensure complete your product
registration information if needed and snail mail it in or submit it on the line to keep in the loop when a callback never occurs.

The Flitter Fairies are super adorable for girls and will keep
    them entertained for hours.

I have one quick question… Im trying to apply for 4 buisness credit cards for 4 different businesses that I own and I am a sole proprietor. If I apply for Chase Ink for all four of them will I run into any problems and will I get the sign up bonus for all the cards? Or should I go through 4 different banks? I have an excellent credit rating of 800+. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

In my opinion that a foreclosed can have a important effect on the client’s life.
Real estate foreclosures can have a Several to few years negative affect
on a borrower’s credit report. A borrower having applied for home financing or
just about any loans for example, knows that a worse credit rating is, the more tough it is to have a
decent mortgage. In addition, it may affect a new borrower’s capacity to find a good place
to let or hire, if that results in being the alternative real estate solution.
    Interesting blog post.

Thanks for your write-up. Another item is that to be a photographer involves not only problems
in catching award-winning photographs and also hardships in getting the best dslr
camera suited to your needs and most especially problems in maintaining the standard of
your camera. This can be very genuine and obvious for those
photography fans that are straight into capturing a nature’s captivating scenes :
the mountains, the particular forests, the actual wild or seas.
Visiting these adventurous places certainly requires a dslr camera that can surpass the wild’s severe landscapes.

    Hey there,

I love your site ! My question is: I want to apply for high limit credit cards and I’m under the assumption I need to only apply for EXCELLENT CREDIT cards to attain this. Visa Black Card ($500 yrly fee) is fine if I can get a high limit. Any advise/recommendations?

Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card, Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card

My credit score is +720 with no negatives, no real debt, 34yrs old, Northern California, and income +$130,000 (reported).

    • January 6, 2015 at 7:49 pm

The Visa Black Card is not worth getting in my opinion. If you want a high limit credit card consider getting a charge card like AMEX Gold Business or AMEX Platinum. Also Chase Ink and Chase Sapphire are great cards. I would not recommend Capitalone because they pull from three credit agencies and that could cause 3 credit inquiries instead of one. Let me know if you need any more help, consider signing up through my credit card deals link. Thanks!
