Is TopCashBack legit? – My Experience with TopCashBack

I wanted to share with everyone my experience with TopCashBack. There has been some debate on whether or TopCashBack is a legitimate site for cash back. Some people ask is TopCashback legit or complained about the payout times. While others rave about the high cashback rates. TopCashback pays some of the industry’s highest cash back rates because it gives you the customer 100% commission returned as a cashback rebate, while some cashback websites keep some commission for themselves.

My Experience with TopCashBack

I actually have only used TopCashBack since December because I questioned the legitimacy of the site. I like using Ebates, MrRebates, or BigCrumbs when I have the chance because I’ve experienced them for many years and have consistently received cashback from those sites. I decided to give TopCashback a chance finally and see what would happen.

So far, TopCashback has accurately recorded all my transactions for selling and buying on Cardpool and Plastic Jungle. I have not yet to contact TopCashBack about a missing transaction, so I cannot comment on their customer service. Here are some tips to ensure TopCashBack properly records your transaction:

  • Make sure a confirmation message shows before making your purchase.
  • Check the “Pending” transaction column to ensure your purchase was recorded.
  • Be proactive about your transactions posting. If you do not see the transaction in the “Pending” column in 2-3 weeks, send them a message.

I am still waiting for a majority of my cashback transactions. Most of my purchases have been “confirmed”, but not yet paid. However, I finally was able to request a payment on February 28, 2013 for a friend referral on December 20, 2013. The payment was deposited into my checking account on March 6, 2013! That’s about a 2 to 2.5 month period to receive a payment, which is quite comparable to other cash back sites, which are about 60 days payout period.

Based on my experience, I will continue to use TopCashBack for cashback if it is better than the Ultimate Rewards portal. For example, if the UR portal is 3X and TopCashback is 4%, I will use the UR portal because I value UR points conservatively at about 1.5 cents per point or more. I will continue to use Bigcrumbs or Ebates if TopCashback does not have the specified vendor listed.

My experience with TopCashBack has been great so far. I currently have no issues with TopCashBack, but will share with everyone if issues occur. Anybody care to share their experience?

    Mine has been mixed. TCB has missed a few purchases. Moreover it stated 16% cash back with IHG. Only got 4% back. Asked twice on their web page, but was denied. Not sure how to get access to a human there. Certainly not 100%. Big crumbs, ebates, mrebates and UR have been 100% accurate.

      That’s good to know. I’m a little skeptical about using TCB for hotels. I’ve only tested cardpool and plastic jungle.

      My experience with Top Cash Back has been mostly negative. They decline more offers than they pay. Just try to resolve something. They just say send the claim again & could care less when you send a support ticket. When I think of all the $$$ that have been lost it makes me angry. My advice there are more cash back sites much more reperable
      such as ebates & upromise.

    Awful. They fed me up with their lies for months, and still haven`t paid or even posted anything. Filed a complaint with BBB and Attorney General in DE. Waiting for their response.

      Sorry to hear! It’s good to test it out once and if it works then keep trying. If it doesn’t then switch to big crumbs.

    I don’t think they are legit. This is because it happened to both my account and my husband’s account. We each had about $60 that took severe months before they became payable. So we submitted the transaction. History showed that the paid out was Nov 28, 2013 for both of us. However, I check his account and mine account (different banks), so none of our account had anything for the amount during that period. Contact customer service and they said if there was an error “it would have bounced back and that would take about 4 weeks.” However, February 2014 from Nov 2013 is NOT 4 weeks. If it only happened to one of us, then I can believe its a error or glitch. But two different accounts to two different banks and same situation is not an error, but I think they are scamming people.
    I wonder if the people promoting them, get some refers, if I am wrong, please advise.

      I’ve had a decent experience with them but I do still prefer big crumbs. I would say if TCB doesn’t work out then stop using them and try big crumbs or others.

    I bought $800 chair from Hayneedle. It was 10% cashback. I bought in on 1/5/2016. First i have to ask for missing cashback. Then i requested for payout. Today is 5/9/2016 I still don’t payout for me. I have to sent them about 10 email asking for payout. They keep asking for my ID+prove of purchased. I sent them everything i have order confirmation, my ID, email from Hayneedle about tracking my order, The date of charging my credit card. All these email back and forth about 10 times. Today they sent me another email asking for delivery invoice!!!! Look like they just don’t want to pay. I think they just want to asking for the thing that they think you must not have! I won’t use this website again. I never have problem with website Shopathome and ebates.

    I used topcashback to do a rebate on an item got the cash back within the 21 daays sent it to paypal & used it no problems. Did 2 more of their rebate offers both said it would be payable within 21 days but logged into my account after the 21 days to cash it out & it now says will be payable in 14 weeks 4 weeks later still says it will be 14 weeks hoping it goes through but frustrating to wait. Read reviews today but isn’t looking good. Cant get answers through them for what is going on.

    This review for TopCashback and I bought a watch from for $4.5K and in part the decision was based on 2% cash back offer from TopCashback. After 3 month waiting got a response from TopCashback that cash back is denied because “Returned or cancelled order.”. After providing to TopCashback order number, shipment and payment confirmation a month later they came back with new response from – “another marketing channel.”. Now 6 month after the purchase I can’t return and dealing with TopCashback looks like going to nowhere so I just have to let it go. What is most disappointing is that they are making it look like I am dishonest person when it seems that one or both of the companies doing bad business. So I decided to post 10 reviews for each of them.

      Yeah, got denied with a generic “another marketing channel” excuse after 5 months of submitting a ticket, waiting, nudging several times, and more waiting before the rejection. Terrible experience.

    Topcash back does not give cashback if you use coupons. This is not there in any other sites such as Ebates. I placed few orders in Lowes but never got cashback. When I inquired they said I used Lowes 10% coupon. This is cheating For cashback this should not matter at all. This is the gimmick they play so they do not need to pay you..

    NEVER, NEVER, NEVER USE TOPCASHBACK. I made a few large purchases via TOPCASHBACK. They are using all sorts of excuses not to pay you. It is almost a headache to talk with them.

    I have not had an issue with other cashback sites like but with TopCashback the tracking USUALLY doesn’t work. I’ve suffered with them not paying for two years now. When I switched to another cashback site I didn’t have any of these problems.

    They make you jump through so many hoops to reclaim your cashback that it’s not worth it – usually you receive nadda.

    Don’t use TopCashback. They don’t track and they don’t pay.

      I made a bunch of purchases, received nothing from this company. FRAUD!

      I have a lot of purchases thru them. I even screenshot all the purchases for records. I have never received anything from them. I have sent emails and they just don’t respond!
      I check all their ‘5-star positive reviews’. These are fraudulent, rigged reviews!
      They earned commission from merchants but they won’t give share those to you.. GREEDY! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

    Having looked at your TopCashback account we can see that since joining our site in 2014 you have made over 400 clicks from our site to different merchant that we advertise, from time to time cashback will go untracked as this is inevitable, when this happens a missing cashback claim is required, the claims team work to recover any missing cashback, they do this by working with a series of affiliate networks, the networks review the missing cashback claims and get back to the claims team with either an approved or declined resolution, if approved the cashback is passed onto us from the network and we then pay this to our members in full (we do not keep a percentage of the cashback like other cashback sites do), if the claim returns declined a declined reason is provided and we are not allocated with any cashback.

    I can see you have had 3 out of 7 missing cashback claims declined for the reason ‘another marketing channel’, this declined reason is provided if other entities, such as pop up windows, previous stored cookies become linked instead of TopCashback, or if a coupon/promotional code is used when purchasing.

    We do state on every merchant page in the Terms and Conditions that cashback is not guaranteed, we do advise members to read all T’s & C’s on the merchants page before making a purchase.

    If you do have any cashback that has not tracked to your account please do lodge missing cashback claims for these.

    They did not pay me after 9 months of time and emails. I’m now being told that it’s been denied because I must have failed to clear my cookies before making the transaction. Huge scam and waste of time.
