There hasn’t been many great credit card offers for personal credit cards lately. However, one credit card that often gets overlooked is the Chase British Airways credit card because many people think it isn’t a useful credit card because it is considered a foreign airline. Right now, the annual fee is waived for the credit card. The Chase British Airways 50K Bonus no annual fee is a credit card worth getting if you haven’t yet.
I have actually never used British Airways Avios miles to travel on British Airways. I’ve mostly and only used them to travel on American Airlines. I’ve talked about my favorite use for British Airways Avios is using them from Los Angeles to Hawaii. It only costs 25,000 Avios to fly from the west coast to Hawaii roundtrip. From the west coast to Hawaii, it is under 3,000 miles one-way and therefore only 12,500 one-way. I believe I’ve done 3 Hawaii trips on Avios points and booked a few tickets for family members and friends. I’ve definitely booked lots of free Hawaii trips with Avios miles. Here is the Avios distance chart to help you calculate your mileage:
Once you know how to book Avios awards, it isn’t that hard at all. It may be intimidating trying to understand how you can book AA flights with British Airways Avios, but it is not hard at all. If you are trying to get to Hawaii from the west coast, I would rather get the Chase British Airways credit card vs the Chase Sapphire Preferred. If it has been over 2 years since you applied for the Chase BA credit card, you can apply for it again and get the bonus again.
British Airways Avios points are quite valuable. I would value them at about 1.5 cents a piece. Therefore, a 50,000 sign-up bonus with no annual fee would be worth about $750. It actually is worth more to me because I would use 50,000 Avios for 2 round-trip tickets to Hawaii. If you don’t have this credit card yet, you can considering signing up for it on my credit card deals page.
