I’ve never stayed at an all-inclusive hotel nor have I been to Mexico in the winter so I didn’t know what to expect.  At 20,000 Hyatt points a night (transferred from Chase Sapphire Preferred and Chase Ink Bold), the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta is an amazing deal.  They definitely don’t skimp out on food or drink offerings as an all inclusive.  You can pretty much order any non-alcoholic or alcoholic drink you’d like and order anything off the menu at any time or go to the buffet at any time.

Puerto Vallarta has definitely exceeded my expectations.  Also, thanks Hyatt Diamond for the Penthouse 2-story Plunge Pool Suite upgrade :).  One unique and cool thing is you don’t give your credit card for incidentals because there are no incidentals, even the minibar is free.  I’m sitting on the balcony enjoying the ocean views and crashing waves while I write this.  I’ll write a full review later on, but here are some pictures to entertain.

Is it easy to get to/from the airport? What method of transportation did you guys use?

Yes it’s very easy. Just used the authorized taxi and it cost $18.

Very nice! I’ve always wondered what an all inclusive resort would feel like. Is the 20k points for two people? Any way to use your diamond suite upgrades?

20K is for two people. I actually got a good AAA rate for $230 for two nights and points for another two nights. I’m using up all my Barclay points before cancelling the card. They let me keep my room even though I used suite upgrade for just two nights.

Looks great! My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Zilara in Montego Bay last year and loved it! We booked the family for 4 nights at the Ziva Los Cabos this summer. Rom, I was wondering if you can please give me some tips about the activities you did at the Andaz Papagayo? Considering booking a 4 nighter from socal with my wife and I’s annual free nights and points. Thanks – RG
