Credit Card Reconsideration Phone Numbers

Credit Card Reconsideration Phone Numbers are used when you apply for a credit card and do not get instant approval.  Usually credit card companies will review your application and it might take 1-2 weeks to get an answer.  However, by calling the reconsideration line you can talk to a credit analyst right away who can process your application on the spot.  I usually call as soon as I get a pending review on my application.  Be truthful when you call.  Here are the list of phone numbers(mostly direct lines) you can call to get approved for your credit card faster:

  • American Express – 866-314-0237
  • Chase Personal – 888-245-0625
  • Chase Business – 800-453-9719
  • Citibank – 800-695-5171 or 800-763-9795
  • Barclays – 866-408-4064
  • US Bank – 800-947-1444

Some tips that I use to succeed on my credit card reconsideration:

  • I study the credit card perks and understand the ones I am genuinely interested in.
  • I state why the perks attract me to the credit card.
  • I explain my loyalty to the specific credit card company (I’m actually loyal to most of them).
  • I explain how I always pay on time and in full.
  • I explain I need to separate business expenses from personal expenses.

I would wait. I actually would not apply for capital one because it does 3 credit pulls! I believe Bank of America reconsideration is (866) 458-8805. I would call right away. Thanks for applying!

Paying on time and in full is a reason NOT to want you as a customer. The best CC customer is one who consistently maintains a modest/high balance and is charged interest for the rest of their life.

    • July 5, 2013 at 5:52 am

Yes, but if you default on payments they can see you as a huge risk.

      1. Sorry I don’t have a letter written, but you can just state your situtation and you have a good credit score. Also state why you really want the card.
      2. I would always call right away.

    1. chase- do you advise i call back today, or wait a few days?
i am so upset you can not imagine it seems you should notify the crowd that chase cares mostly about the time of your credit you currently have, not considering a card you have with other if you dont have responsiblity. i am a very good client of chase and i am really upset.

    2. bank of america if you can find any number for me would be appropriated.

    3. capital one- did not get any reply yet.

    4. is there anywhere a default ready letter to send to reconsider,
please please post here text of letter to ask to reconsider.
i would like to send it chase and bank of america.

    5. citi bank on chat told me they authorizing me 5100 chase says it only shows up as $500, what can i do?

    many thanks

      1. That is very strange, try calling them and talking to another representative. When was the last time you applied for a Chase credit card? I recommend waiting 3 months between Chase credit card applications.

      2. Try (877) 721-9405.

      3. I’ll try to find some written letter example.

    1. thanks, will need to be more carefull in the future, what do you advise to do about chase?
    2. i am self employed i would i prove income to capital one instantly? they told me a signed letter will be ok.
    thansk

      1. Call the reconsideration line at least 2-3 times. If that doesn’t work then you might have applied for too many cards too quickly. Take it slowly.

      2. You can try writing a letter. Sorry, I don’t have a Capital One card.

        1. capital one they made a credit check, and asked me to proof income, and told me it can take up to 14 days till they decide, do you think it worth calling to try to offer if there is anything else they need to speed up the progress.

        2. chase business, seems they rejected me cause they dont seen any credit only my chase card less then 3 months he told me that i have on citi $500 usd and i told him i have $5000 he told me it doesnt show up, and i am new at credit and no way will i get approved, he was very rude, i am a very good costumer of chase i tried to speak to him, but he very abrubt and harsh and did not offer a discusion. it seems he decided the descion on the spot and would not regret on it.

        please advise

        • November 8, 2013 at 4:33 am

Keep calling at least 3 times. I wait at least 91 days to sign up for more cards. They probably did not like that you applied too quickly.

      • May 21, 2014 at 12:20 pm

that, allow me tell you what did do the job. The text can be incredibly egignang and this is most likely the reason why I am making the effort to comment. I do not make it a regular habit of doing that. 2nd, although I can see the leaps in reasoning you make, I am not sure of exactly how you seem to unite your ideas which in turn produce the conclusion. For right now I will, no doubt subscribe to your point however hope in the future you link your dots better.

    1. chase will not even reconsider as i have no credit rerecorded on my name as the card i have i am only a authorized user.
was just thinking to ask them if they dont allow me the bussiness card before i have at least 3-6 months of credit handling of over $5000 as that is the min they like to auothorse for bussiness cards.
    thanks

    2. increasing credit limit!
what do you advise about asking to exceed credit limit.

do you think i should ask them now that my credit check was done can they exceed my credit limit.
so they dont need to make another check.
    please advise
